Hackathons have been a regular annual event in the repertoire of technical events organized by our college since last 7 years. Imagine Hack is one such Hackathon. It firmly abides by the motto of our student society i.e. “Innovate, Invent and Inspire”. Imagine Hack was first organized in 2019 and turned out to be a huge success. The upcoming version of Imagine Hack is set to become the first-of-its-kind organized at our college. Our goal is to upstage the standard of hackathons in our city by creating an exclusive hacker experience, learning from some of the best internationally listed hackathons. We aim to bring corporate networking, placement opportunities, internship prospects, and incubation possibilities through the care of our sponsors and community partners..

Moreover, hackathons instill coding instinct into students, provide a kick start for beginners, establish a platform to showcase skills, and distill visionary concepts into actionable solutions, further inspiring us to organize Imagine Hack. With a team of 9 Microsoft Student Partners from our college, immense resources are at our disposal and a campus with spacious auditorium, internet facilities, security and infrastructure in the heart of the city, a formidable experience is right at bay.

Imagine Hack aims to bring into light the under-served community of game developers. We intent to halt the crunching culture of the gaming industry by establishing open source in gaming. Imagine Hack will promote hackers via a special domain to build unique and standardized solutions for open source game development. Special rewards will be given away to solutions for the same.

Become our Sponsor

We aim to bring corporate networking, placement opportunities, internship prospects, and incubation possibilities through the care of our sponsors and community partners.
We invite you to help us create technology.

  • What is a hackathon?+

A hackathon can be best described as an “invention marathon”, or in simple words hackathons are about bringing your crazy ideas to reality. It’s an event where any tech-enthusiast, regardless of their individual field can come & participate to learn, build & share their creations over the course of a weekend, in a relaxed & productive environment. Hackathons are simply a venue for self-expression & creativity, where people come together & transform their thoughts into reality, through technology.

  • Can I start working on my hack before the event?+

No. In the interest of fairness, students should not be working on their projects before Imagine Hack begins and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects. However, you can familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand.

  • Who all can participate?+

This is a student hackathon and only students are allowed to participate. You’ll be required to verify at the event by showing your student ID card.

  • Do I need to have any specific qualifications for the hackathon?+

If you love to code, you are more than welcome to participate in the hackathon. Though we may screen applications to maintain high standards..

  • I am a newbie, can I hack?+

Ofcourse you can! We at Imagine Hack ensure that no one is left behind during the hacking, thanks to our mentors and volunteers who help us achieve the same. We make sure that you learn the best you can alongside having fun and experiencing what it feels to belong to a community.

  • How big a team can be?+

The maximum team size is five and minimum being three.

  • What to bring to the hackathon?+

Please bring a valid university ID (or any student ID if in high school), a computer (preferably a laptop), chargers, and any hardware you will use for your hack. Please bring your own extensions although we'll have them available. No firearms, weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are allowed on campus.

  • Does ImagineHack helps with travel reimbursement?+

We surely fancy participents from across the country, however currently we do not help with any travel reimbursement.

  • How Does Judging works?+

A panel of some of the biggest names in tech will evaluate hacks based on creativity, technical difficulty, design, and usefulness. The top 10 overall projects will demo what they have built-in front of all during our closing ceremonies. New judges will be announced on a rolling basis on Instagram and Facebook, so make sure to follow us!

  • Don't find my question listed here. What can I do?+

You can always contact us at support@imaginehack.in or reach out to us on Instagram at @mssmjcet. We would be more than happy to help you.
